Exercise while living with a traumatic brain injury
About the Study
Researchers at The University of Sydney are exploring barriers and enablers to brain injury rehabilitation and physical activity participation for people with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).
We are seeking
- Older adults – 65 years and older
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities– individuals who self-identify with a culture diverse from an Anglo Australian or western culture dominant in Australia
- People with high support needs– individuals requiring significant support with daily tasks such as mobility, self-care, self-management, or behavioural management
What is involved?
We will conduct interviews, focus groups or yarning sessions, depending on the population and participants’ preferences. We are seeking participants from the following groups:
- People with TBI
- Family members or informal supports for people with TBI
- Support workers
- Community physical activity providers
- Aboriginal and multicultural health or community workers
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Interviews, focus groups or yarning sessions will be conducted in participants’ preferred mode (e.g., face-to-face or virtual), and are estimated to take between 30-60 minutes.
