Leadership Transition at Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia

Leadership Transition at Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia

Tuesday, 14 July 2026

The Board of Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia (Connectivity) today announced a leadership transition, marking an important new chapter for the organisation.

After 6.5 years in the role, Professor Lindy Fitzgerald is stepping aside as Chief Executive Officer. Lindy’s contribution to Connectivity has been profound – under her leadership, the organisation has grown from an idea into a trusted national presence in the Australian TBI sector. The Board is deeply grateful for her vision, commitment, and the lasting foundation she leaves behind.

Reflecting on her decision, Professor Lindy Fitzgerald said: “After 6.5 years, it is time for the organisation to have a full-time CEO to lead its next stage of growth. It has been an honour to lead Connectivity, and I am proud of all we have built together.”

The Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Naomi Fuller as Chief Executive Officer. Naomi brings an intimate understanding of Connectivity, built over many years as the Executive Officer and Company Secretary. She knows the organisation, its people, and its work deeply and has been instrumental in Connectivity’s work to date. The Board is confident that under her leadership, Connectivity will continue to grow its impact for people living with traumatic brain injury, their families and the professionals who support them.

On her appointment as CEO, Naomi Fuller said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity to step into this role and build upon the strong foundation Lindy and the team have created. The people we work alongside – those living with traumatic brain injury, their families and the professionals who support them – will remain at the heart of everything we do. I am looking forward to working closely with our Board, our partners and our community as we move into this next chapter together.”

The Board is also pleased to announce a change in its own leadership. Denise Goldsworthy has been appointed Chair, bringing extensive governance and leadership experience to the role. She takes over from Robert Vink, who steps down as Chair after 6 years of steady and committed stewardship. The Board is very pleased that Robert will continue to serve as a Board member, ensuring continuity and the ongoing benefit of his experience and counsel.

Incoming Chair Denise Goldsworthy said: “It’s a privilege to take on the role of Chair at such an exciting time for Connectivity. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Robert Vink for his outstanding leadership as Chair, and we are delighted that he will remain with us on the Board.

“I also look forward to working closely with Naomi as she leads the organisation forward – her commitment to our work and to the community we serve is exactly what Connectivity needs in this next phase. Together, we are well placed to build on the strong work already underway and to deliver real impact for people living with traumatic brain injury.”

These changes reflect the strength and stability of Connectivity at an exciting time in its journey. The organisation’s focus remains firmly on the people it exists to serve – those with traumatic brain injury, their families, and the professionals who support them. Connectivity remains committed to its partnerships, its research, and its work across the traumatic brain injury community.

On behalf of the Board of Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia, we welcome Naomi and Denise into their new roles and thank Lindy and Bob for their services as outgoing CEO and Chair.
